Process of Company Registration

The first step in the process is to complete your application with either a free zone authority or the Dubai Economic Development Department (DED), depending on your chosen business jurisdiction.

You must submit passport and visa copies for all individuals involved in the business. Additionally, your proposed business name must be submitted for approval by either the Free Zone authority or the Dubai Economic Development Department (DED).

To meet Dubai’s salon setup regulations, your salon space must be properly designed and constructed according to the following requirements:

1. Space and Layout Requirements

  • Ceiling Height: Minimum of 2.3 meters.
  • Seating Distances:
    • At least 1 meter between hairdressing and makeup chairs.
    • 0.5 meters between manicure and pedicure chairs.
    • Chairs must be positioned at least 0.5 meters away from the walls.
  • Minimum Salon Size: A two-chair salon must have at least 3 meters by 4 meters of space.
  • Separate Treatment Areas: Dedicated spaces for services like hair removal, facials, and body treatments. Each area must be at least 6 square meters with fitted walls and a washbasin inside or nearby.

2. Health & Safety Regulations

  • Ventilation: Services that generate harmful vapors must be performed in a well-ventilated room.
  • Air Quality: Proper ventilation, exhaust fans, and adequate lighting are mandatory throughout the salon.
  • Water Heater: A fully functional water heating system is required.
  • Fire Safety: Interior walls and roofs must be made from fire-resistant materials.

3. Salon Maintenance and Hygiene

  • Signboard: The salon must have a visible signboard at all times.
  • Furniture Quality:
    • Must be comfortable, free of cracks or rust.
    • Made from materials that are easy to clean and disinfect.

Following these guidelines ensures compliance with Dubai’s salon regulations, maintaining a safe and professional environment for both clients and staff.

After confirming that your salon space meets the minimum requirements, the next step is to finalize a rental agreement. You must then submit the tenancy contract and Ejari number to either the Free Zone authority or the Dubai Economic Development Department (DED).

Additionally, you need to secure approvals from the following authorities:

  • Dubai Municipality’s Department – Ensures compliance with building and operational standards.
  • Planning Department – Verifies the salon’s layout and structural design.
  • Health and Safety Division – Confirms adherence to hygiene and safety regulations.

These approvals are essential for legally operating your salon in Dubai.

Once you receive initial approval, the next crucial step is selecting a suitable location for your salon. The chosen premises must:

  • Be approved by the Planning Department in your area.
  • Comply with the infrastructure standards set by the Local Health and Safety Department.

Ensuring these approvals will help you meet Dubai’s regulatory requirements and create a safe, compliant space for your salon business.

We will start by helping you choose a suitable name for your company while ensuring compliance with Dubai’s naming regulations.

Key Naming Guidelines:

  • Avoid offensive or blasphemous language in your company name.
  • Do not use names of well-known organizations to prevent legal conflicts.
  • If using your name, spell it out fully instead of abbreviating it (e.g., Dave Mann Consulting instead of D Mann Consulting).

Following these guidelines will ensure smooth approval of your business name by the relevant authorities.
